Understand how managed aquifer recharge can help build a more resilient water supply and the many benefits to adopting nature-based solutions in creating resilient cities. Learn how thinking holistically about wastewater as a resource can yield both energy and natural resources.
DOWNLOAD NOWJoin us at ‘Achieving SDG 6′, where we deliberate on the most needed efforts to address global water scarcity and celebrate the launch of the new digital Danish water solutions tool.
The world is not on track to achieving sustainable water management. Multistakeholder collaboration must be the driver to ensure this availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all by 2030. The global water supply and demand gap is projected to reach 40% by 2030 if current practices continue. In many places, demand is already exceeding sustainable supply, and in others, water scarcity is hindering economic growth. Leveraging disruptive and well-tested technologies and engaging in new partnerships are crucial to get it done.
Water is inextricably linked to the social, cultural, economic, and political values in sustainable development. It is crosscutting and supports the achievement of many SDGs through close linkages with climate, energy, cities and the environment. With climate change profoundly affecting our economies, societies and environment, water is the biggest deal breaker to achieving the internationally agreed water-related goals and targets, including those in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
With the countdown to 2030, we clearly see the era of partnership for water climate action, so; How can partnerships enable a more resilient and green economy, and what needs to be done utilizing stakeholders across borders to accelerate this water climate action? With the UN 2023 Water Conference as the backdrop, this event will convene 60 clean economy leaders from the private sector, and national, state, and city governments. Attendees can expect a highly inspirational and interactive event.
