The Irish government has announced that 5 GW of offshore wind must be installed by 2030 in their Climate Action Plan for 2021. Two of the most developed projects, Codling Wind Park and Oriel Wind Park are both on a list of specially prioritised projects which will be given a fast track status by the authorities to ensure timely deployment of offshore wind.

Currently, Ireland only has one offshore wind farm in operation and is thus set to become a significant new market for offshore wind which will bring huge opportunities for the Danish supply chain.

On 23rd of June, the Trade Council in UK & Ireland and State of Green are organising an export promotion and market visit to Ireland for Danish companies in the wind energy sector. The purpose of the visit is to meet project developers in Ireland of the upcoming large scale offshore windfarms which will be installed in the coming years as well as a chance to network with key stakeholders in the industry.

The visit will consist of a pre-workshop held online on 15th of June and the main event in Dublin, Ireland on Thursday 23rd of June. Please refer to the attached invitation for a detailed programme.
