City of Ikast-Brande has a unique position in the wind turbine market

Ikast-Brande is located in the heart of Jutland. We have a fantastic infrastructure with easy access to Herning, Aarhus and Vejle , and the two international Airports, Billund and Karup, all within an hour's drive.

Ikast-Brande is home to many companies in the green technology sector, and a large part of the value chain is represented in the municipality. We have many companies in the wind industry - both large manufacturers like Siemens Wind Power, but also many suppliers and subcontractors to the wind energy industry, such as KK-Electronic and Niebuhr Gears.

In addition to that we also have several companies working with household wind turbines, solar and geothermal energy.

We are a very suitable municipality to start a business in. Two years in a row Confederation of Danish Industry has rewarded us for the best business climate of all the municipalities in Denmark. That means that the right framework conditions exist for businesses – we have suitable land, we have fast and competent casework and none the less a good dialogue between companies and the municipality.
